What is Skin Needling?

_

Skin needling (also known as collagen induction therapy) is a natural way to induce collagen and elastin production of the skin. The micro needling device will encourage cell renewal and repair damaged skin, improving the appearance of scars, pigmentation or aging skin.

How does it work?

_

The micro needling device contains ultra-fine needles. When the pen passes over the skin, the needles create micro wounds in the skin, triggering a natural healing response, thus stimulating the production of proteins and lipids responsible for the structure of the skin. The needles also create micro channels to the dermis. This allows enhanced delivery of actives where they will have cell regulating functions, thereby improving skin appearance, texture and tone.

What should you expect after your skin needling treatment?

_

Immediately following in-clinic treatments, the skin may appear red, similar to that of a mild sunburn. Some clients have reported that the skin remains red and blotchy for 2-4 days. It may feel tight and may or may not peel the first week of receiving the treatment.

What are the benefits of skin needling?

_

The skin needling treatment has many benefits for our skin. It increases our collagen and elastin production, therefore an exceptional treatment for anti-aging. It allows for better product absorption as we are creating micro channels into the skin. It reduces the appearance of pigmentation and scar tissue from the increase of cell turnover. It is also known to visibly reduce the appearance of pore size and stretch marks. It is also evident that skin needling increases epidermal and dermal thickness.

_

It is recommended to follow the Micro Needling pre and post-treatment protocol and products as advised by your skin therapist.

For optimal results, we recommend a course of 4-8 treatments, depending on the area being treated and is performed at 4-6 week intervals.
